After nearly twenty years as one of
Texas' most successful designers, Jan Showers felt that something was missing in the Dallas market area, namely an atelier with unusual antiques and twentieth century decorative pieces. In 1996 she opened her showroom in the Dallas Design District, presenting a collection that reflected her design philosophy. The showroom not only catered to Showers's clients but also attracted many designers from all over the country. Buyers from San Francisco to New York have all become regular patrons.
Though most of the showrooms in the Dallas design district were selling traditional English and classic French, Showers purchased very differently for her 6,000 square foot space. She began to acquire Louis XVI, Directoire, Napoleon III, and mid-twentieth century designers. |
